Hand rejuvenation
Hand peel
Duration of the procedure: 30 minutes under local anaesthesia.
A hand peel can be carried out in case of stains or superficial wrinkles on the back of the hands. It is a very light procedure carried out under local anaesthesia. Most of the time, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used. It allows a completely safe light peel. Sun exposure is advised against during a few months after the procedure.
Peel makes the skin softer, more stainless and smoother. Several sessions are necessary for an optimal result, usually 3 with one month between each to enhance and make the results durable.
Hyaluronic acid injections
Hyaluronic acid injections can treat the volumes on the back of the hand. The aim is to fill unsightly hollows on the back of the hand and between the fingers. It is a rapid, painless and scarless treatment. The injections are carried out on the back of the hand to fill unsightly hollows and conceal the veins and the tendons.
As a preparation, the doctor will apply an anaesthetic cream one hour before the session.
The injections are made between the bones, where the hollows are situated. After the injections, the skin is massaged in order to spread evenly the substance on the back of the hand.
Some side effects are possible but they disappear quickly. As it is the case after every injection, bruising and swelling can appear.
The results are immediate.
The procedure lasts 20 minutes and is carried out in the surgery. The results last during about 18 months.
Hand lipofilling (fat injection)
The hand is the most exposed part of the body after the face and the neck. In this area, signs of aging are very visible beyond a certain age. The thinning of the skin on the back of the hand, the apparition of visible back veins and the projection of the extensor tendons are difficult to hide signs of aging.
Adipocytes graft in this area gives volume to the hand by giving fullness under the skin. Volume is, like for the face, a symbol of youth.
This procedure easily conceals the above-mentioned signs of aging. The aim is not to make the hand bulging but to realize a simple subcutaneous fat layer.
Adipocytes graft is made through two small incisions on the radial and the ulnar edge of the back of the hand. The injection is made under the skin, in a way that does not damage the veins and does not create irregularities.
Fat tissues graft extends until the commissural spaces. The correction of the dorsal side of the fingers is less systematic and applies to the first phalanxes.
The usual quantity of fat tissues transplanted in this area is from 10 to 15 ml by hand.
The follow-up is light. The small scars (a few millimetres) heal very quickly and the stitches are dissolvable.
The final result will be appreciated 1 to 2 months after surgery.
